QUEBEC CITY — A Quebec-based adult film production company that was having trouble recruiting male actors has opened an academy for budding porn stars.

Pegas Productions is offering the intensive one-day training course for $149. Nicola Lafleur, a producer at Pegas, told QMI Agency that of 50 men who applied to take the course, only nine were admitted.

“In their application they had to submit a picture of them with an erection,” she said.

The workshop starts with a morning session on the ins and outs of the business.

“Our goal,” says Lafleur, “is to give them information that will allow them to know what it’s really like to be a porn star. How much it pays, how often you work, how your health can be affected. We have to dispel all the myths.”

For the low, low price of $149 you too can learn how to be a porn star. And you might even get a job too.

Quebec porn studio Pegas Productions is offering classes for male stars, according to Le Journal de Québec.

Producer Nicola Lafleur told the newspaper that the company started the school because it has had a hard time finding good actors for its movies. The class is an opportunity for the studio to find stars who can endure the rigours of performing for the cameras.

But if you’re thinking of signing up in hopes of getting some action, stop right there. The class consists of both a theoretical and practical section, but the latter is performed with underwear on. Basically, the students simulate challenging positions.

Lafleur told VICE the company received 50 applications for its first class and accepted 10. Four of the students were taken on to shoot actual porn.

What do you need to get into the class? Send an application to the company (NSFW link) and include a nude photo.

Lafleur told VICE they’re looking for larger than average penises (SHOCKER), but nothing too big.

“The problem with a huge penis is that it can be tough to stay hard. So let’s say we need to film for an hour, a person with a large penis can have a lot of difficulty with that,” he said.

VICE: Where did you come up with the idea for Porn School?
Nichola LaFleur: We were having a lot of trouble finding good porn actors. I realized that we could teach aspiring porn stars the tricks of the trade, and in the process recruit those we thought were best for Pegas Productions.

What was the application process like?
Fifty people applied. They were required to send in a picture of themselves naked and erect. From there we sent them questionnaires and gave them information on the realities of porn. A lot of people think that they’ll make a lot of money in porn. In Quebec, that can’t be the number one motivation to get into porn. I don’t know about elsewhere, but here it won’t be full-time work, and it won’t pay $10,000 a shoot—unless you’re amazing.

We look for confidence, a good attitude, the penis (which can’t be too small, but too big can also be problematic) and looks. Looks aren’t as important, because there are all sorts of people with different preferences. So sometimes we’re looking for a young, white, skinny boy, but other times we need someone that’s the opposite of that.

The application process has changed this time around. The only way to apply is to subscribe to the course on Pegasproductions.com. If we accept you, you pay the $149 and you’re in.

Why is a really big penis a problem?
A 13-inch penis is definitely better than a three-inch penis, but a little above average is ideal. The problem with a huge penis is that it can be tough to stay hard. So let’s say we need to film for an hour, a person with a large penis can have a lot of difficulty with that.

You mentioned a looking for a “good attitude,” I always assumed the right attitude was “horny.”
It depends. For men, we’re looking for someone who gives 100 percent. Someone who wants to improve, that’s a good attitude. Someone who’s intense but can also be sensual when needed. We look for people who are creative and who participate in the process. We want people who give ideas. Sometimes we [behind the camera] lack the imagination. A porn star who gives their input can help the movie look more natural. That’s a good attitude.

Not just taking any joe schmoe off the street (there’s already a few porn series doing that anyway) Pegas is getting academic, and offering male hopefuls a Pegas 101 intro to pornographic acting course, Journal de Quebec reports.

Don’t think this is just a psuedo-formality in order to get a bunch of male porn actors, as Pegas is taking the course pretty seriously. Not wanting a bunch of flops who won’t perform under the pressure of filming, the course acts as a screening process as well as an educational experience. And yes, that was a double sexual innuendo’d sentence.
